Putting Green Quality Process
First, the area to have turf installed must be debris free and level. Any existing grass must be removed prior to the base being installed.
Next, we install 2-4 inches of decomposed 1/4" minus granite (sometimes a layer of 1" crushed rock is also installed for a dual base system) over the entire area and adjust grade to level and undulation desired. The area is then machine compacted through a plate compacting process. After inspection against original specications, final leveling is done through a precise rake/hand tool process to ready the area for turf installation.
Once the area has been plate compacted we consult with the customer to complete the desired undulation and placement of cups. After customer review we set the undulation and install cups (set in concrete.)
Following area compaction we lay
out the turf and cut the turf
design. Seems are heat sealed
with Elite Putting Green's
proprietrary artificial turf
heat seam tape. This is the
only heat seam tape approved by
the artificial turf counsel. The
process is accomplished by using
a specialized turf iron that
melts the adhesive on the tape
and binds the adhesive, tape and
turf together, creating the
STRONGEST
seams in the industry.

We
never use liquid nails which are
not designed for artificial turf
and are prone to creating seam
separation over time. Don't be
fooled by companies offering to
install our system for a
discounted price! They typically
use a turf with a pile height of
1/2" and a very light face
weight. Elite's putting green
turf is manafactured to be a
minimum of a 1" pile
height thus giving our customers
twice the system that others may
offer. This means our system
will last twice as long as the
shorter sytems offered and
ours will catch hold and release
ball shots just like a natural
putting green.
Finally, the project is
completed through an Elite
Putting Greens proprietary
infill process. Infill is
dropped onto the turf with the
use of drop-spreaders and then
brushed onto the turf to create
the desired appearance and to
make the fibers stand up. We
fill the putting green turf up
with the infill until 1/8" of
the fiber tips show at which
time the turf is rolled with
water filled turf rollers. This
crimps over the fiber tips and
locks the infill in place which
creates that bent green putting
green appearance you find at the
golf course. This green can
have its speed adjusted anytime
by either rolling the green to
speed it up or by brushing it to
slow it down.
Most customers never adjust the
speed of the green once
installed but for the serious
golfer this is a nice option to
have to mimic changing
conditions on the golf course.
This completed the process.
Your new putting green is ready
for immediate enjoyment.
